Vaccine drive: COVID-19 vaccination continues in various regions, states

Doctors and nurses from people’s hospitals, Tatmadaw medical teams, healthcare workers and volunteers are working hard to give COVID-19 vaccines in different states and regions as the vaccination programme is one of the most important activities in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 disease.

COVID-19 vaccine is administered daily to target groups regardless of race or religion. On 26th and 27th March, doctors and nurses from people’s hospitals, medical teams from the Tatmadaw, relevant healthcare workers in collaboration with volunteers gave COVID-19 vaccines to the people from 15 townships in Shan State (North), seven townships in Mon and Kayin States, 26 townships in Ayeyawady Region, four townships in Rakhine State, seven districts in Mandalay Region and people from Htantabin and Bago Townships of Bago Region, respectively.

Likewise, COVID-19 vaccines were given to students from Lashio and Muse townships of the northern Shan State on the same days.

Similarly, with the supervision of the Chairman of Township Administration Council and officials of the Health Department, COVID-19 vaccines were injected to 540 people who have been never vaccinated from 84 village-tracts and 4 wards in Falam Township at the Township Nursing training school in Chin State.

Likewise, COVID-19 vaccination continued in Rakhine State and the vaccines were given to 1,469 people who include in the priority group of people over at the age of 18 from Kyaukdaw township of Rakhine State and 400 people in IDP camps in Paukdaw Township. Likewise, officials vaccinated COVID-19 vaccines to people in Indaw of Shan State (South).
