US Vice President JD Vance and his family visited the Akshardham Temple in New Delhi on Monday, marking the start of a four-day visit to India. The visit holds significance as Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to advance discussions on a trade agreement to address proposed US tariffs.
Vance arrived at Palam Airport with his wife Usha Vance, their children, and senior officials from the US administration. His schedule includes a meeting with Prime Minister Modi on Monday evening, where talks will center on trade, defense cooperation, and economic engagement.
Following official engagements in Delhi, the Vance family will travel to Jaipur and later to Agra, where preparations are underway at the Taj Mahal. The visit also draws attention to Vadluru village in Andhra Pradesh, believed to be the ancestral home of Usha Vance, where local residents are observing the visit with interest. The trip is set to conclude on April 24 with Vance’s departure from New Delhi.
