US seized an oil tanker linked to Venezuela

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on Saturday that the US Coast Guard had seized an oil tanker linked to Venezuela in a pre-dawn operation, part of Washington’s push to enforce sanctions on the country’s oil shipments.

“In a pre-dawn action on Dec. 20, the US Coast Guard with the support of the Department of War apprehended an oil tanker that was last docked in Venezuela,” Noem wrote on social media platform X. She added that the United States would continue to target the illicit movement of sanctioned oil used to fund narco terrorism.
