US revokes visa of Chile Transport Minister

Chile's Transport Minister Juan Carlos Munoz confirmed on Friday that he was among three Chilean officials denied a visa by the United States for allegedly undermining regional security.

The US Department of State announced it has taken steps to impose visa restrictions on three Chilean government officials who provided significant support to or carried out activities that compromised critical telecommunications infrastructure and undermined regional security in US.

Meanwhile, the Chilean government criticized the decision by Trump's administration and summoned the US ambassador to Chile to learn more details about the measures and the identities of those affected.
