US police look into 'hate crime' after Palestinian students shot in Vermont

The police in Burlington on Sunday were investigating the shooting of three students of Palestinian descent as a possible hate crime, authorities said. A man with a pistol shot the three victims on the street near the University of Vermont on Saturday evening and ran away, Burlington police said in a statement.

Two of the victims were in stable condition, the third sustained much more serious injuries. The Burlington police did not release the names of the victims but said that two of them are American citizens and the third is a legal resident.
