The U.S. military is showcasing the AC-130J Ghostrider at Osan Air Base in South Korea.

The aircraft is noted for its roles in close air support, armed interdiction, and armed reconnaissance, making it one of the most requested assets during combat operations. Derek Lipson, commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command Korea said "In order to provide senior leaders soft operations capabilities, we have to conduct the training routinely.

So it's a matter of whenever we have the opportunity to bring a crew like this and this system to the peninsula, we'll take advantage of it." The regular training missions focus on ensuring combat readiness, including flying the aircraft, employing its munitions, and coordinating with ground forces.
