US President Joe Biden announced the U.S. will provide $2 billion in humanitarian aid to help Africa combat food insecurity.

Biden said he will visit sub-Saharan Africa next year. His promise of a personal visit came as Biden declared to the 49 leaders gathered for the summit that "Africa belongs at the table” in every conversation of global consequence.

Biden said "High food prices and high trade barriers are taking a toll on the lives and livelihoods of millions of people across the continent. If a parent can't feed their child, nothing else really matters."Biden also said he'll push the G-7 and the G20 to remain focused on food security.
