US envoy to discuss 'Israel's position' as Lebanon moves to disarm Hezbollah

US envoy Tom Barrack said he is in discussions with Israel to understand its position on fulfilling commitments under the ceasefire that ended its war with Hezbollah, following Lebanon’s move to disarm the group.

. Tom Barrack, US envoy said "In the next few weeks you're going to see progress on all sides. What does progress mean? Progress means a better life for everybody, it means a better life for the people, a better life for our neighbours, and at least the beginning of a roadway to a different kind of dialogue with all of our neighbours."

He emphasized that addressing Hezbollah remains “a Lebanese process,” while highlighting the need for Israeli participation and an economic plan for prosperity, restoration, and renovation.
