US donates $2.4 million in equipment to help Ecuador against drug trafficking

At Guayaquil of Ecuador on Thursday, High-level US delegation, on a mission to strengthen security cooperation with Ecuador, handed over to the Ecuadorian Armed Forces equipment valued at $2.4 million after the announcement at a meeting in Quito that they would cooperate in the war against drug trafficking.

Commander of the United States Southern Command and US Ambassador to Ecuador led the handover before Joint Command chief Jaime Vela, who was awarded the US Legion of Merit with the rank of officer.
