US army transports IS prisoners from northeast Syria to Iraq

US military vehicles escorted buses transporting IS prisoners from the Kurdish-majority city of Qamishli in northeast Syria to Iraq. The United States, which leads a coalition that supported Kurdish forces in the campaign against IS, has recently engaged with Syria’s new authorities. Officials have indicated that the purpose of its alliance with the Kurdish forces is largely over.
