Senior officials from the United States and China have gathered in Geneva for talks aimed at addressing the ongoing trade dispute between the two countries.

The meetings follow the introduction of broad US import tariffs by President Donald Trump and subsequent countermeasures by China. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and other members of the US delegation departed from Geneva’s Intercontinental Hotel on Friday en route to a confidential meeting location.

The venue remains undisclosed due to security considerations. The discussions are intended to prevent further escalation and seek a resolution to a trade conflict that has impacted global markets and international trade relations.
