Urban Development: Yangon Region Government To Be Sold Out New Land Plots

The application forms for the land plots which will be sold by Yangon Region Government is available at Yangon East District Office from 7th October till the 6th of November.

Yangon Region Government is going to put on sale over 500 land plots in four Dagon Satellite Townships and the townships of Hmawbi, ShwePyiTha and HlaingThaYa for sale, which is owned by the government for the urban development project.

The Joint Secretary of Yangon City Development Committee said during a regular press meeting on Monday.

He added that thorough scrutiny will be made for development of society in the new land areas. He also stressed that the compensation will be provided to the original owners of the land.

Joint Secretary, Yangon City Development Committee, U Than said “We will scrutinize the application forms thoroughly and prioritize for sale to those who are going to settle there, targeting for the urban development. On the other side, we are going to repay the compensation for the original farmers and we've already repaid over 6.9 billion kyats and also planned to repay 31 billion kyats in 2019-2020 fiscal year.”

The Yangon Region Government also plans to sell new land plots for industrial purpose in the second phase.

Joint Secretary, Yangon City Development Committee, U Than said “As the second step, we plan to sale 187 land plots for industrial purpose in MyaungTaGa Industrial Zone and over 9300 acres of land in Dagon Seikkan and East Dagon Townships. These lands have been previously granted to the private companies for implementation of Standard Agriculture Zone. 20 % of the sale will be given to the original companies and 80% will go to the Government's investment programs.”

Topics ranging from waste collecting, amendment of 2018 YCDC Law and actions to be taken to those who ask for donations without official permission and many more were also raised at the press meeting.
