Upgrading Waziya Cinema: MOI Union Minister attends Work Coordination Meeting

Work Coordination meeting of upgrading Waziya Cinema in order to meet the international standards was held at Waziya Cinema on Bogyoke Road in Kyauktada Township, Yangon on 3rd September.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn together will the committee members, officials from Yangon City Development Committee, Yangon Electricity Corporation, Myanmar Architectural Council, Myanmar Engineering Council, Myanmar Motion Picture Association, Myanmar Music Association, Myanmar Theatrical Association and invited guests attended the meeting.

First, Director General of Information and Public Relations Department made clarification on the implementation processes of upgrading the Waziya Cinema. Then, the Union Minister stated that in carrying out the upgrading works, it is needed to comply with the guidlines of the head of state.

He also urged the departments to make cooperation in implementing the work and to prioritize the work which is effective in maintaining the building and repairing the lights and sound systems. Upon the reports, the Union Minister coordinated the needs and concluded the meeting.
