As a result of these efforts, 286 suspects were arrested, including 270 Chinese citizens, 2 Malaysians, one Vietnamese, and 13 Myanmar citizens.
Initial investigations revealed their involvement in online fraud and gambling activities within the country. The Major General emphasized the arrest of individuals attempting to transport arms and ammunition to terrorists in Kayah State.
He highlighted the presence of Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) as key contributors to the ongoing armed conflicts in Myanmar. He stated that these groups receive support in the form of arms, ammunition, and financial assistance from unfriendly foreign countries.
Providing details on the current armed conflicts, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun reported ongoing operations in Namtkham, Tamoenye, and Hopan in the northeastern part of Shan State, with reports of drop bomb attacks. Security measures along the Mandalay-Muse road are being carried out by the Tatmadaw.
In Kayah State, attacks have occurred at Loikaw Prison and Court. In Rakhine State, attacks persisted at Don Nyo Police Station but retreated in the afternoon. The situation in Pauk Taw is reported to be under control. Addressing rumors about banking operations, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun reassured the public that there is no need for concern about a financial crisis.
