Update on Current Situation: Rumors on the school closing and ongoing armed conflicts

In a recent update, Major General Zaw Min Tun, leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council, provided insights into Myanmar's ongoing situation.

In regarding with the rumors of school closing in some townships, he assured that no schools will be closed and those will be opened normally. He also informed that the Universities and colleges will be opened starting from 23rd of this month.

The students enrolment has been accepting since the 16th of this month and the rate of enrolment appears to increase this year. Under the security concerns, the distance University’s examination centers in Loikaw and katha were suspended and the examination will be held later.

The repatriation of illegal residents from China continued. Myanmar and China is conducting cooperation for the bilateral friendly relation, peace and stability to be prevailed in border areas and law and order.

As for armed conflicts, there were some armed engagements in Namtkham, drop bomb attacks in Tarmonye and Namtsalat. Security restoration is underway in Theinni Township. There were some armed exchange in South-East in Loikaw of Kayah State. Armed insurgents attacked Tron-Ai and Non-Bu posts in Rakhine State.

Major General Zaw Min Tun emphasized on the rumors spreading by the destructive elements with the collaboration of untrusted medias under the current situations of the country. He pointed out that they attack now against the education sector likewise their attacks on fuel secor and banking sector.

Major General Zaw Min Tun called for cooperation of the students and parents to protect the future of the students and the country.
