Universities Football Tournament: SAC Secretary attends the opening ceremony

2023 Inter-Ministries Universities Football Tournament commenced in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. Secretary of the State Administration Council Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe attended the opening ceremony, held at WunnaTheiddhi Stadium.

At the ceremony, Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe said the outstanding players will be selected for 21st ASEAN University Games to be held in Indonesia in 2024. He urged all to make earnest efforts with perseverance to reach the world class tournament through the ASEAN and Asian level via the Ministry and State level events.

Then, the football tournament was formally opened, followed by taking the Sports Oath by the participating teams. Then, SAC Secretary and members, the Union Ministers and officials cordially greeted the athletes. In the opening match, the Ministry of Science and Technology Team (A) beat the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Team with 5-0.
