Union Government Meeting: SAC Chairman addresses the meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

The Union Government held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday, with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

In his speech, the Prime Minister stressed the need to review the implementations on the Road Map and Objectives for development of the nation. He pointed out the government’s efforts for economic development, education promotion, improvement of agriculture and livestock sectors, human resource development, preservation of cultural heritage and promoting sports standards. He added that preparations have been made for holding a free and fair general election, along with the efforts for ensuring peace and stability in the country.

The attendees provided update reports on agriculture, production and export, education, health, fishery industry, development of industrial zone, implementation of projects, foreign trade and currency incomes, tourism development, MSME businesses, electricity supply and loan disbursement from the State Economic Promotion Fund.

The Prime Minister discussed the need to implement the distance education to be effective, to produce value-added agricultural products and to utilize solar power for irrigation and generating electricity. He also outlined the plans to provide assistance for the displaced persons due to the attacks of terrorist insurgents, using the National Disaster Management Fund. He urged all to make cooperative efforts for development of state economy, which could contribute to the progress of political, social and defence sectors.
