







The Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing addressed the Union Government Meeting (6/2022) held at the meeting hall of the office of the SAC Chairman, Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on August 22.
The SAC Vice Chairman deputy prime minister vice senior general Soe win, union ministers and union level individuals attended the meeting and the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw, chief ministers of regions and states participated in the meeting through Video Conferencing.
In his address, the SAC chairman prime minister said that this is the first meeting after reshuffling the government. Since the taking the state responsibilities, the government was formed with the persons from the political parties, retirees and senior officials in service and carried out the duties to be re-operated.
The issues for the country such as political, economic and social affairs have been implementing by setting the political, economic and social objectives. While those objectives are being implemented, the difficulties appear. By the time of taking state responsibilities, the second wave of COVID-19 was encountered and faced difficulties on the medicines and medical persons.
The wave was severe and the government had to overcome it through the difficulties. The senior general pointed out the damages of government procedures due to the staffs declared CDM, the wave of COVID-19 now in its decreasing in comparing the 2nd and 3rd waves, the neighboring China and Thailand are the countries of friend in deed when it’s in need.
The government is exercising the five disciplines of co-existence with the neighboring countries and others alike. Whatever it was, the government could overcome the difficulties successfully. The government is reshuffled for the convenience in performing the duties and to be the right person in right place. The former union ministers and union level officials who performed the tasks dutifully are thankful.
The government needs to implement the objectives. The prime minister added the peacemaking process, peace is essential to build the union, the implementation of NCA, the process of NCA to be implemented, matters on the international relations, country’s membership of United Nations, ASEAN and BIMSTEC, country’s complying with those organizations’ charters, friendly relations with neighboring countries and Russia Federation as well, implementation for the genuine and disciplined multi party democracy system, the 2020 general election was the worst record in the history etc.
In regard with the economy, the Senior General stressed the needs on revitalization of the economy affected by the COVID-19, better production, trade and banking system and said that manufacturing of the products has been restored into normal in the regions and states except Chin State, Sagaing region and Kayah State.
The Senior General added that the micro, small and medium enterprises will be encouraged for the production of goods as well as rice, edible oil and bean grinding mills will be provided. The relevant Ministries need to invite local and foreign investments for improving socio-economic life of the farmers and creating jobs for the locals and urged to encourage for the investments that are really beneficial for the state.
Concerning the COVID-19 prevention, treatment and control activities, the Senior General said that with the cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Tatmadaw and private organizations, COVID-19 vaccines have been vaccinated fully to over 32.9 millions, more than 3.6 million people vaccinated one doses and booster doses were administered to about 5 million people.
Regarding vaccine production, Myancopharm will continue to produce according to the country’s demand. He pointed out that the government is implementing the tasks by adopting work programs, goal, national objectives and political goals and political parties and the people must also participate.
As Moving Forward, they must continue to move forward and all need to carry out the successful implementation of the tasks. Later, the Union Minister reported on sector-wise implementations.
In his conclusion, the Senior General stressed the needs on opening of more district offices that are actually to be extended, opening of offices in the Self-Administered Regions and Division for the improvement of socio-economic life of the people and construction of new district and township courts and renovation of the existing buildings.
He also stressed on production of agricultural products, yielding of 100 baskets of summer paddy per acre and 80 baskets of monsoon paddy per acre, efforts for export of rice to abroad, expanding the fields for levying taxes and striving for falling commodity prices and increasing the value of currency.
