






The 78th Anniversary Union Day ceremony and the award presentation for winners of the Union Day commemorative essay and sports competitions were held at the Danyawadi Sports Ground and U Ottama Hall in Sittwe on Wednesday. Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and wife, the Commander of West Command, Chief Justice of State High Court, members of the State Government, senior military officials from the Sittwe station, departmental officials, and invited guests attended the event.
First, at 7 a.m., the 78th Anniversary Union Day message-reading ceremony was held and the Military columns and a Myanmar Police Force column marched, led by the parade commander, and saluted to Rakhine State Chief Minister. Following this, the State Chief Minister and wife, Commander of the West Command, the State Chief Justice, State Government ministers, state, district, and township-level departmental officials, and invited guests gave their salute to the national flag and fallen heroes.
After that, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin read the message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing for the 78th Anniversary Union Day ceremony. Subsequently, the Chief Minister, Commander, and officials presented cash awards to honor guard members who participated in the 78th Anniversary Union Day message-reading ceremony.
They also took commemorative group photos with ethnic representatives attending the event. Later, the State Chief Minister and officials attended the award presentation ceremony for winners of the 78th Anniversary Union Day commemorative essay and sports competitions held at U Ottama Hall, where they presented awards to the winners.
The State Chief Minister and officials then warmly met with the winning students and athletes, offering words of encouragement. In the evening of February 11, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and wife, State Government members, and departmental officials visited offices in downtown Sittwe to observe and encourage staff participating in collective Htamane-making activities. Additionally, the State Chief Minister presented cash awards to the collective Htamane-making teams.
