




The 78th Anniversary Union Day commemorative flag-raising ceremony and message-reading event were held on the lawn in front of the State Government Office in Myitkyina, Kachin State on February 12.
First, the 78th Anniversary Union Day commemorative flag-raising ceremony was held at 5:30 a.m., led by the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Kyaw Thu Ra, members of guard of honor, State Ministers, and state-level departmental officials raised the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and collectively saluted the national flag.
Following this, at 7 a.m., the message-reading ceremony continued. The message sent by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, for the 78th Anniversary Union Day commemorative event, was read by the State Chief Minister U Khat Htein Nan.
Subsequently, the State Chief Minister, the State Chief Justice, Commander of North Command, and officials presented certificates of honor and cash awards to students who won prizes in the High shool-level and basic education level essay, poetry, and short story competitions held in honor of the 78th Anniversary Union Day.
They also took commemorative group photos with the attendees. Additionally, the attendees were treated to breakfast at the State Government Office's Maykha Hall, where traditional ethnic cultural performances were showcased. Furthermore, health workers from the State Public Health Department administered COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccines to the attendees.
