Unified Stance: Broad support for CBM's response to UNHRC report

Various social and religious organizations have issued statements showing their strong support for the Central Bank of Myanmar's response to a recent report by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

The report, released on June 26th, implicated foreign banks, local state-owned banks, and private banks in Myanmar's human rights violations, prompting calls for legal action.

The Central Bank of Myanmar, along with the Myanmar Banks Association, state-owned banks, and private banks, strongly condemned the report, asserting that it is detrimental to the interests of Myanmar citizens and negatively affects Myanmar's foreign relations.

The organizations voicing their support for the Central Bank's statement include the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Myanmar Rice Federation, Myanmar Press Council, the Young Men's Buddhist Association Central), the Interfaith Friendship Organization (Central), Thananta DhammaPalaka (Hindu) Association, the Methodist Church of the Union of Myanmar (Lower Myanmar), Islamic Religious Affairs Council Myanmar, Pinnaygon Rakhine Jaame Mosque, Buthidaung-Maungtaw Regional Development Association, Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance, Deliverance Church (Yangon), All Myanmar Hindu Central Council, Evangelical Church, Bago, Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation (HQ), Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central), Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Myanmar Music Association (Central), Myanmar Comedians’ Association, Myanmar Writers Association, Myanmar Artists Association (Central) and Myanmar Sports Media Federation.
