In one hundred days since the earthquakes in Herat of Afghanistan, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has converted tented health facilities into more permanent facilities in shipping containers.

Health and nutrition teams treated 90,000 medical cases, nearly three-quarters of whom are women and children. UNICEF set up 61 temporary learning spaces and 61 child friendly spaces.

UNICEF continues to truck clean water to nearly 19,000 people. They urgently called for greater healthcare, clean water and sanitation services for children, amidst harsh winter.
