The U.N. refugee agency said on Tuesday that almost3.6 million people have fled Ukraine since Russian military operation.

Andreas Kirchhof, a communication officer for UNHCR, said more than 2.1 million people have fled to Poland alone. The number of people arriving daily is equivalent to the population of a mid-sized town. He added that internal displacement has been rising sharply and that the UNHCR is shipping urgently needed relief items, mattresses and blankets to Ukraine. Russian military operation has driven more than 10 million people from their homes, almost a quarter of Ukraine's pre-war population, according to the United Nations.
