UNGA73: Union Minister Attended Side-Event Of 73rd UN General Assembly

The union minister for international cooperation U Kyaw Tin who is in New York to attend the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA73), attended the discussion on ‘Digitalization People’s Lives: 2030 Agenda in Action’ which is held as a side-event on 24th September. The union minister clarified the Myanmar’s digitalization.

The Norwegian Minister of International Development, Honorable Mr. Nikolai Astrup, director of the Office of Innovation of UNICEF Ms. Cynthia McCAFFREY and president of Telenor Company Mr. Sigve Brekke also took part at the discussion.

The union minister explained Myanmar’s economic reform and adoption of market oriented economic system, leaf frog development of IT sector and digital revolution at the discussion.

The union minister U Kyaw Tin accompanied by Myanmar permanent representative to UN, ambassador U Hau Do Suan attended ‘Global call to Action on the World Drug Problem’ organized by the United States of America on that day. Also present at the ceremony were US president Donald Trump and high level officials from over 130 countries.

At the event, organizing by US and other 31 countries together with 99 UN member countries, a Global call to Action on the World Drug Problem was promulgated.

Likewise,  the union minister together with Myanmar permanent representative also attended the reception of centenary celebration of Nelson Mandela held at the UN headquarters at the evening.
