A cold current has created a layer of crystal rime and snow on tree branches in some mountainous areas of eastern and northern China, to the delight of Spring Festival holiday makers. Due to the cold air, scenic spots over 1,000 meters above sea level on Mount Jiuhua in east China's Anhui Province were covered by beautiful rime.
The rime has made pine needles look like silvery chrysanthemum, glittering in the air. Rime also coated grotesque stone peaks, making them even more fantastic. The cloud sea and flickering peaks created something similar to a spectacular ink and oil painting, fascinating tourists and augmenting their festive mood.
