UN Security Council delegation meets with Syrian president

UN Security Council delegation met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the presidential palace in Damascus, in the first-ever visit to the country. Prior to the meeting, the delegation toured the Old City of Damascus.

The UNSC delegation arrived via the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing between Lebanon and Syria and “is scheduled to meet a number of Syrian officials” and members of civil society, state news agency SANA reported on Thursday.
