The UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Tom Fletcher, inspected a wastewater treatment plant in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of northern Gaza City, which has ceased operations during the ongoing conflict. Fletcher outlined a 60-day plan to deliver food, restore sanitation and health services, provide winter shelters, and support the reopening of schools for hundreds of thousands of children.

Tom Fletcher, UN humanitarian Chief said  "We've got to get the power back on so we can start to get the sanitation system back in place. We have a massive 60-day plan now to surge in food, get a million meals out there a day. Start to rebuild the health sector, bring in tents for the winter, get hundreds of thousands of kids back into school. But this is a massive, massive job ahead of us. But we owe it to the people here who've been through so much.”

Gaza Water Authority Chief also highlighted the urgent need for supplies and spare parts, noting that hundreds of trucks from aid organizations remain unable to enter Gaza due to border restrictions.
