UN General Assembly approves resolution seeking 'humanitarian truce' in Gaza

The UN General Assembly emergency session held on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in New York. On Friday, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution seeking an immediate "humanitarian truce" in Gaza, as the Israel-Hamas conflict raged for 21st day. The nonbinding resolution, criticized by Israel and the United States for failing to mention Hamas, received 120 votes in favor, 14 against and 45 abstentions.
