On June 3, 2025, the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held in New York, discussed and adopted the resolution titled “World Horse Day”, initiated by the President of Mongolia. The resolution designates July 11 of each year as World Horse Day, to be officially observed for the first time in 2025.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, there are currently over 57 million horses and working equines registered globally, highlighting the enduring importance of horses in human life. The resolution underscores that horses are used not only for riding and transport, but also in sports, tourism, traditional medicine, and food production.

Their role is particularly vital in regions with unique geographic and climatic conditions.
