UK remains committed to 'peaceful and stable democracy' in Venezuela

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said the United Kingdom remains committed to supporting a peaceful transition to democracy in Venezuela and preventing further regional instability.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Cooper said UK policy continues to focus on a transition that reflects the will of the Venezuelan people, maintains regional security, and complies with international law. She said the UK is working with international partners, including the United States, to avoid further deterioration of the situation in Venezuela.
