UK PM says working with US on Iran but will make decisions in "Britain's best interests"

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK is working with the US on the war in the Middle East, caveating that "decisions about what's in Britain's best interests are decisions for the Prime Minister of Britain". Speaking during a visit to a community center in London, Starmer also discussed the impact the war is having on the economy.

It follows a call between Starmer and US President Donald Trump on 8 March, during which the two discussed the conflict in the Middle East after Trump insulted the British PM over his initial refusal to have any role in the war.
