UK and Germany to boost defence ties in relationship 'reset'

The German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius and his British counterpart, John Healey, pledged to cooperate more closely on defence and security issues as part of the new UK Labour government's post-Brexit "reset" in relations with European allies.

On his inaugural visit to Berlin, Healey signed a joint defence declaration with Pistorius that was hailed as the first of its kind between the NATO allies. During a joint press conference in Berlin, Pistorius said "Germany and the UK are on the same path, travelling in the same direction, saying “a strong Europe and a strong NATO is top of their minds".
