Turkiye Forest Fires

A forest fire broke out in Istanbul’s Aydos Forest on Sunday, prompting a fast-paced firefighting effort that brought the flames under control within the same day.

Pendik Mayor said that the fire was brought under control and extinguished on Sunday through air and ground interventions by members of Turkiye’s General Directorate of Forestry fire and Istanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry fire brigade teams. The fire broke out at 13:58 p.m. local time, and that their crews were on the scene minutes later.
