Trump on Venezuela oil, border security, economy

US President Donald Trump opened his State of the Union address by declaring that the United States is stronger than ever, highlighting major energy accomplishments as the centerpiece of his administration’s success.

He stated that the US received more than 80 million barrels of oil from a partner, Venezuela adding that American natural gas production is at an all-time high. Beyond energy, He emphasized that more Americans are working than ever before, that border security has improved, and that fentanyl trafficking and violent crime are down.

Trump also highlighted falling gasoline prices, lower mortgage rates, and trillions of dollars in new investment pouring into the US, framing these achievements as part of a historic turnaround.
