US President Donald Trump vowed on Friday to have the Strait of Hormuz open with or without Iran's cooperation. He also claimed that his top priority in peace talks was to ensure Iran can't have a nuclear weapon.

Donald Trump, US President said  "And now we're going to open up the Gulf, with or without them. But that'll be open. We're going to be — or the Strait, as they call it. And I think it's going to go pretty quickly. And if it doesn't, we'll be able to finish it off one way or the other. It's going well."

Nevertheless, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will loom large in the peace talks in Islamabad, Pakistan.
