Trump says minerals deal with Ukraine to be signed next week

US President Donald Trump said he is ready to sign an agreement that may offer a path to peace in Ukraine. The deal would give the US access to Ukrainian natural resources. Trump spoke to reporters about the agreement at the White House on Thursday. 

Ukrainian officials also said the two sides have already finalized what's known as a memorandum of intent. President Zelenskyy described the agreement as "positive." Talks on the deal had continued even after a heated exchange between Trump and Zelenskyy at the White House in February.
