Trump says he intends to designate Brazil as 'maybe a NATO ally'

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, he plans to designate Brazil as a major non-NATO ally "or maybe a NATO ally."

UNITED STATES PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP said "As I told President Bolsonaro I also intend to designate Brazil as a major non NATO ally, or even, possibly if you start thinking about it, maybe NATO allies have to talk to a lot of people but maybe NATO ally which will greatly advance security and cooperation between our countries."

Trump and Bolsonaro also pledged their countries' continued support for Venezuela's opposition leader and National Assembly head Juan Guaido. In the wide-ranging news conference, Trump also said that he is finalizing a technology safeguard agreement that will allow U.S. companies to conduct space launches from Brazil.
