Trump comments on Kushner–Putin meeting

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the meeting held on Tuesday between Jared Kushner, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Russian President Vladimir Putin went “reasonably well,” though he added that the path to achieving peace in Ukraine is still uncertain.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump reiterated his view that Ukrainian President Zelenskyy should have reached a settlement with Russia last February. He recalled telling Zelenskyy during a tense White House meeting that Ukraine “didn’t have the cards,” but said Kyiv chose not to pursue an agreement.
