Trump claims tariffs cut US trade deficit

US President Donald Trump has claimed that recently released figures show US tariffs have reduced the country’s trade deficit by more than 50 percent.

In a post on Truth Social, he said the reduction was larger than most projections and would continue to strengthen in the near future. Trump called on the US Supreme Court to allow tariffs to remain in place, arguing they are necessary to protect national security and financial independence. He also warned of what he described as “America-hating forces” opposing the policy, urging supporters not to let them prevail.
