US President Donald Trump reacted to strong GDP growth, criticized the Federal Reserve’s approach to interest rates, and argued that good economic news should lift markets, not push them down.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump praised new financial data showing U.S. GDP growth of 4.2 percent, well above forecasts. Trump said the strong performance came despite what he described as the negative impact of a recent Democratic shutdown.

He criticized modern market behavior, arguing that Wall Street now reacts negatively to good economic news due to fears of interest rate hikes.  He urged the Fed chairman to lower interest rates when markets perform well and warned against policies that could derail economic rallies.
