A truck falls into a hole in Yashio City

A truck has fallen into a hole in part of a busy intersection in Yashio City near Tokyo that caved in on Tuesday morning. Efforts are underway to rescue the driver.

The road collapse was reported at around 9:40 a.m. Firefighters said the resulting hole is about 10 meters wide and 5 meters deep. The truck’s male driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, is said to be able to speak with the rescuers.
