TRT Flash Floods in Hatay

Heavy rainfall hit Hatay’s Payas district, Turkiye on Monday evening, quickly turning into flash floods that inundated streets and disrupted daily life. As the downpour intensified, several roads and neighbourhoods were submerged, forcing authorities to close major routes.

The flooding also triggered landslides in some areas, blocking access roads and damaging homes and businesses. Many vehicles were stranded as floodwaters swept through the streets. Highways and municipal crews have been working tirelessly to reopen the blocked roads and clear the debris left by the floods.
