Tripartite Meeting: Discussion between Government, Employer and Employee

In order to tackle the difficulties and challenges between employers and employees, the Ministry of Labor held a tripartite meeting between Government, Employer and Employee at the Ministry via video conferencing on 23rd August.

At the meeting, Union Minister U Myint Naung highlighted the exerted efforts of the Ministry for the development of the nation, collaborating with the regional and international organizations. He added that these efforts emphasize on creating peaceful and safe workplaces, ensuring the employees to enjoy every benefits granted under labor law, and providing secure job opportunities, social protectin and healthcare services, etc.

The Union Minister expressed that labour organizations can be formed freely according to the Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organize Convention No.87.  In order to improve the workplace relations, every difficulty encountered must be resolved through negotiation between employers and employees.

He urged the attendees to make concerted efforts in enhancing nation’s production capacity with the collaboration among the tripartite groups. During the meeting, the work implementations on desicions made in previous meeting held on 19th September 2022, reports on current difficulties encountered and necessities were presented.
