Tripartite Meeting: Aiming at the benefits of employers and employees

Honoring the workers’ day, the tripartite meeting of government, employers and employees was held at the UMFCCI in Yangon on 26th April with the attendance by the Ethnic Affairs Minister of the Yangon Region Government U Saw Jacob Htoo, Director General and responsible officials from the Ministry of Labor, members of Dispute Resolution Arbitration Councils, employers and labor organizations.

Aiming to get into the implementation status of this meeting for the benefits of employers and employees, the tripartite meeting was held in accordance with the nation’s policies and objectives.

The discussion took place by the officials from respective sector, dividing into 3 teams: the topics about “the emergence of skilled workers” and “creating of employment opportunities” for team-1, “the social security projects which will be beneficial for workers to be carried out” for team-2 and “creating a safe and peaceful workplace”, “the rights to enjoy full wages for workers” and “effective solution on labor disputes" for team-3.

General Secretary, Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association, Aye Linn said "As a result of tripartite meeting, the workers’ demand, the requirements of employers and skilled workers, the issues being carried out by the government and the opinions of employers and employees are openly discussed."

Employer Representative, Dispute Resolution Arbitration Council, Than Maung said "From this meeting, attendees will get into the point how to solve the problems between employers and employees if labor dispute occurs out of work place. By solving the problems step by step, we can surely avoid damage and loss at workplace. "

As productivity plays a vital role for the development of the country, the role of the workers who are serving their duties with intellectual and physical power for the productivity’s development are also important.

The worker’s day, which falls on 1st May 2023, will be celebrated in grandeur and thronged manner at Myanmar Convention Center of Yangon with government, employers and employees.
