Tribute to the Demised Sayadaw: Revered Sayadaw of Naga Hna Kaung Monastery

Patron of Naga Hna Kaung Monastery in Tachileik of Shan State (East), State Ovada Ceriya Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Jotika Dr Bhandanta Dhamma Thiri, passed away on Thursday. The remains of the Sayadaw are being revered at the monastery for obeisance.
On Thursday afternoon, Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing, and wife paid respects to the remains of the Sayadaw, together with their entourage.
The Senior General also paid respects to the Sayadaws led by the Patron of Thila Dhamma Konetha Tawya Monastery (Wazipeik) Sayadaw and submitted matters for organizing the Final Rites of the demised Sayadaw, including transportation, accommodation, and other necessities.
Cash donations were also made, dedicated to the Final Rites occasion. Naga Hna Kaung Sayadaw was born in 1290 Myanmar Era at Yan Kein Village in Kengtung of Shan State (East). The Sayadaw attained novicehood in 1299 and monkhood the following year, 1310.
The Sayadaw provided many contributions to religion and society throughout his life, achieving numerous religious titles conferred by the government as well as from Thailand. The Sayadaw passed away at the age of 96, with 77 years of monkhood.
