Trees planting activities: MCRD UM joined the trees planting activities

The monsoon season trees planting ceremonies of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development were held at Aye Char Thar Model Village of Tatkone Township in Nay Pyi Taw Council area in the morning on 18th June and attended by the Union Minister U Hla Moe, permanent secetary, directors General and staff members.

At the monsoon season trees planting ceremony of Aye Char Thar Model Village of Tatkone Township, Union Minister U Hla Moe said that 90% of human beings and living things on the world are depending on the trees and forests which provided necessary foods, commodities, various forest products, drinking water by containing the soil layers and water, mitigating climate change as trees emit the oxygen and absorb the carbon dioxide and protection from the natural disasters and many other benefits.

Among the ways and means to solve the climate change and environmental problems, planting trees and conservation of forests are the most simple, easy and cheapest and the most ecofriendly.

Therefore, trees planting and forest conservation are being used widely as the nature-based solution for solving climate change and problems of natural disasters. For the restoration of ecosystem, trees planting and preservation of ecosystem are being accelerated globally etc.

Next, Union Minister U Hla Moe, permanent secretary and Directors General planted Gangaw trees and the departmental personnel, local residents and students planted the shady and perennial trees such as Teakwood, Badauk, Neem, Rain tree, Mezali or senna trees etc.

After that, the Union minister and party oversaw the pig farm with the Responsible Business Fund (RBF) and the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) and pilot production of cotton fabrics with weaving machine with the collaboration of private entrepreneur and Village Committee and coordinated requirements.

Then, the Union Minister and party joined the trees planting ceremonies held at the departments and offices under the Ministry, it’ learnt.
