






To honor the Myanmar Women’s Day which falls on 3rd July, a tree planting ceremony was held in Sittwe on Tuesday. The ceremony was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and wife who is Patron of State Women’s Affairs Committee, Chief Justice of the State High Court, Chair and members of Myanmar Women’s Affairs Committe, members of the Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association, departmental officials and invited guests.
First, Rakhine State Chief Minister and wife provided the saplings to the organizations and departmental officials. Then, Rakhine State Chief Minister and party planted a total of 250 saplings of trees including mahogany and Flamboyant in the designated places.
After that, Rakhine State Chief Minister and officials inspected and encouraged the participants in the tree planting event.
Next, Rakhine State Chief Minister and party visited Gyit-Bat monastery, paid homage to the Sayardaw and offered the offertories.
Then, State Chief Minister and party inspected and encouraged the cleaning activities in monastery compound, and fulfilled the requirements.
Similarly, Chairperson of the State Maternal and Child Welfare Association inspected and encouraged the vaccinating activities for children under age of 2 and healthcare activities for the pregnant women at the District Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory office, and provided necessary assistances.
