Tree planting and putting fish seeds: MIFER UM participated in tree planting

The ceremony of 2024 Monsoon Season Tree Planting and putting fish seeds organized by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations was held at the designated area to the west of office No (1) in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 2nd July and attended by the Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw and wife, Deputy Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung, officials and personnel of the Ministry.

First, the Union Minister gave an opening remark regarding with the purposes and benefits of planting the trees.Next, the Union Minister and wife planted the saplings of treasure standard teakwood and the Deputy Minister, Director General, officials and staff members from the Minister’s office and departments planted 100 saplings of teakwood tree at the designated places.

Consequently, Union Minister and wife together with the Deputy Minister, Directors General and officials and staff members put the fingerlings into the lake at the back of the Ministry. Over 90% of teakwood planted last year by the Ministry are well thriving, it’s learnt.

On the same day, the Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw received a delegation led by Mr. Sanjay Mathur,Regional Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Asia Region at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the call, they exchanged views on the matters currently implementing between Myanmar and UNOPS and the matters to be cooperated in the future. Also present at the call were the officials concerned from the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, it’s learnt.
