




The situation of global warming due to the climate change is happening from being bad to worse globally. Myanmar is included in the top list of the countries affected the consequences of the phenomenon. The best way to respond the impacts of the global warming is the way of nature that is the greening for the environment.
The impacts demand the collective response of the country including the central and regional governments, departments, organizations, CSOs and citizens.
Led by the Myanmar Christian Fellowship of the Blinds, the monsoon season trees planting was held at Kyaikkhana Village in Htantapin Township of Yangon Region in the morning on 18th June. The effort was collaborated by the Aye Myitta Center for the physically handicapped, Htantapin School for the blinds, Khawegyan School for the blinds.
U Thein Lwin, Secretary General, Myanmar Christian Fellowship of the Blinds said "We conducted tree planting activities for many times because trees give a lot of advantages for human beings. So, in collaboration with relevant departments, we grow 200 saplings at today’s tree planting event. I would like to say that even blinds and people with disabilities can join this activity for our greening environ. So, I want to say all citizens to grow more trees with us and I will conduct tree planting events in the future as much as I can effort."
Phyu Pwint Han, School for Blinds (Khawechan) said "I’ve been at School for Blinds (Khawechan) for about 3 years and I participated this event under the arrangement of our school and it’s glad to be part of this event for conservation of environment because it’s is my first time of participating tree planting event."
During the tree planting event, about 70 participants planted 200 shady trees including Iron wood, Mahogani, Starflower tree, Tamalan, Tamarind and Manjansha trees.
The 2024 monsoon season trees planting is being carried out across the country led by the Government since the final weeks of the May and the early weeks of June.
