Transportation Service in NPT: 115 bus lines run to over 50 townships

The Nay Pyi Taw Supervisory Committee for Highway Bus Lines is running buses to over 50 townships through 115 bus lines based in Nay Pyi Taw and other townships daily. 

In December of 2022, over 10,900 buses ran to and fro other townships from Nay Pyi Taw with more than 100,000 passengers. An official of the Committee said how they are carrying out measures for the safety of passengers.

An Official, Committee for Highway Bus Lines (NPT), said " In November of last year,5,022 buses entered Nay Pyi Taw from 49 townships with 40,909 passengers. In December, 5,251buses carried 48,224 passengers to Nay Pyi Taw from 49 townships. If compared to November and December of last year, the number of buses has increased to 229 buses with 2,315 passengers who entered Nay Pyi Taw in December. As departure to other townships from Nay Pyi Taw, there were 5,300 buses to other townships in November with 52,336 passengers and in December, there were 5,686 buses ran from Nay Pyi Taw to other townships with 54,319 passengers."

The official of the Nay Pyi Taw Supervisory Committee for Highway Bus Lines said that if compared to the number of buses and passengers travelling to other regions and States from Nay Pyi Taw during November and December of last year, the number of buses increased to 346 buses with 1,983 passengers in December. He also added that the Committee checks work permit, driving license as well as departure and running licenses and checking the use of seatbelts in cooperation with officials from the Ministry of Transport and Communications for the safety of passengers.
